AS part of efforts to aid secondary
school students’ performance in school
leaving examinations, an electronic-

been launched in Lagos State.
The project, which is in conjunction
with the Lagos State government and
the Lagos State University, dubbed
“LASG-LASU E-learning and Social
Media Project,” is expected to leverage
on the availability of the internet,
mobile phones as well as social media
to take education closer to students.
The project is targeted at six key
subjects – English, Mathematics,
Biology, Chemistry, Physics and
Commerce, where emphasis is laid on
subject areas generally deemed by
students as being too difficult to
understand.
In his remarks at the project launch,
held in the Faculty of Education,

Project Manager, Professor Peter
Okebukola, said the project was aimed
at presenting difficult topics in the
secondary school curriculum in a
learner friendly manner, using e-
learning and social media protocols.
He also disclosed that the project,
which is expected to start fully on
January 19, would “significantly boost
the performance of Lagos State
secondary school students in school
and public examinations, especially

Examinations (SSCE) and the United
Tertiary Matriculation Examination
(UTME) conducted by JAMB.”
