Irked by rising wave of crime in its two major
cities of Aba and Umuahia , Abia State
government has decided to reduce the time of operation
for Keke , Tricycle commercial riders, from
6am -7pm in the two cities and its environs .
The order takes effect immediately .
In addition the State government
has further stated that the use of Okada remained banned in the two cities of the State.
Residents living in the two cities have raised the alarm over the resurgence of robbery and other sundry crimes in the
two cities.
However, we gathered that the
present measures by the State government are
the outcome of security reports available to it
which confirmed that the hoodlums operate
with keke tricycle and Okada motorbike .
